..originally presented as a coherent suite debuted via a string of shows last year, this album sees Brian dedicate his ode to LA onto tape...and it's well worth the wait. Having seemingly shed his demons in recent years, Brian's personal and creative rehabilitation seems complete. This is his arguably his strongest collection since 1971's "Surf's Up". Particularly affecting is "Midnight's Another Day" where he marries a poignant lyric to a beautiful melody. In all, the latest triumph in his long career...one can only wonder at how he would have developed had he not lost so many years.
