This is essential entertainment, but it does require patience and just a little bit of engineering...

At first it appears you can do little more than ascend and descend, with random fluctuations in direction more dependant on luck than anything else. Each helicopter will fly slightly differently as a default, the trick is to learn which way yours is pulling in order to twist the tail and push the rotor blades forward to gain control. By setting the natural flight path as an arc, it is entirely possible to make just light adjustments on the sticks to fly in the direction you want, at the pace you want.

For it's size and weight, the Picoo Z is remarkably robust, impervious to just about everything save heat. You can happily crash the thing into the wall all day and it'll still keep going. It'll even right istelf on the floor most of the time so you don't even have to keep getting up.

The charging system works superbly well. I note there have been some problems with connection, but again, a small amount of tinkering usually corrects this. 20-30 minutes charge allows for a good 15 minutes of flight, and I've had the same batteries in use for almost a year now despite repeated plays.

You'll need at least a modest-sized room to take full advantage of the Picoo, and don't even think about taking it outside - gentle flatulence is enough to knock it well off course. It lacks the precision of some of the larger models, but with such a sturdy, aesthetically pleasing design, replacements parts, quick and easy recharging and even a flashing blue flight-light, you owe it to yourself to ask Mr Christmas to fill your stocking accordingly.

I first got the helicopter and flew it using the charge already stored in it. I was happy and impressed for about 4 minutes, then the helicopter ran out of charge. I tried to charge the helicopter but the charger would not remain in the helicopter.

I doubt i will buy such an item from here again. I'd much rather spend a bit extra money in a shop and have the ease of returning it.

Customer rating: 1 out of 5 stars Cheap for a reason

This "toy" works for about five minutes, then it "flies" to the ground. It is cheap for a reason, it has no life span. If you want to waste money then this is one way to do it. I wanted to get my grandson interested in something other than computer games. The reliability of this failed to acheive that.

This is a great present for any guy and girl! Have had loads of fun with it already. It doesn't take long to charge or get the hang of. even my sis and mum could fly it! (though it took them a few times lol). You need to rebalance it if you slam into in the walls too much :-) but it well worth it!! I may even buy the model that has two with infrared lasers so you can fight each other. Took it to work too and everyone loved it!!

Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars What a flyer!

Great little flyer, definately worth £12.99 easy to use and trim, 15-25 minute charge time isnt bad, and the flight time is amazing for the tiny battery it contains. If you need convincing take it from me, this is and amazing helicopter, small enough to be used in a tiny room and in big rooms, and for the price you cant go wrong, dont try to be and cheap and get the £10.99 helicopter, chip in another £2 and get this amazing flyer
