This is a great movie. If you love the horror genre then you'll love this movie. It's intelligent, sinister and has great suspense. I watched this the first time on my own (my husband's not into horror movies like i am!) but i wouldn't recommend it, you need an arm to cling to/hide behind during the really scary parts! It is quite gory but not many vampire movies aren't gory! Good acting too. Josh hartnett seems like an unlikely candidate for this part when you look at some of his other movies but he plays the part well. I'd definitely recommend this movie to anyone who wants to watch a truly scary film but it's not for those of a sensitive disposition.

This movie is really good but its definately a movie that was best seen in the cinema. On your DVD player at home, its not as good but you can still enjoy it (minus the Dolby Surround Sound screams).
The scenery, storyline and graphics are faultless. The only thing open to question is the ending, i wont ruin it for you but you will be left feeling like you were shafted slightly. For a movie wrapped in gore, blood and brutal deaths, the ending doesnt suit it whatsoever.
That said, it is a great watch, its slightly scary but very jumpy .
Acting is very good too which helps but personally i felt the movie had much more potential...

a good vampire movie with a godd setting and filmed in superb quality and the vampires themselves are very scary. some shocking and jumpy moments thrown in for good measure.

a must own for horror movie fans, and atlease worth a rent to general movir fans, the only bad thing i can say about this is you really dont get the sense they have been alive for 30 nights, seems more like 2 nights
